Entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey, and it’s not uncommon for business owners to feel isolated and overwhelmed. This is why many entrepreneurs are seeking safe spaces where they can connect, learn and grow. In response to this need, StartUpSundays was created.

StartUpSundays was first launched as a hashtag in the closed BrownSense Facebook group, where every Sunday at 9.45am, entrepreneurs can connect and share their experiences. This is a space for those in the early stages of their businesses to share milestones, lessons learned, and other tips. It’s also a platform for more experienced entrepreneurs to share their wisdom and offer support.

The success of the hashtag led to the launch of a live event in November, following a partnership with Cheeba Cannabis Academy. The goal of this partnership is to expose more black entrepreneurs to the cannabis industry while there’s still time. The live event takes place on the first Sunday of each month, and it’s more than just a speaking event. The focus is on finding constructive coping mechanisms for entrepreneurs, as they often go through a lot and suffer in silence. The event includes speaking sessions, guided meditations, and other activities aimed at helping entrepreneurs stay anchored.

If you’re an entrepreneur looking for a supportive community, join us for StartUpSundays. Join us on the 5th February, 1pm – 5pm, at Nevada Eden Park, No. 1 4th Avenue, Edenburg, Rivonia.
